i enjoy the simple samples you used! you didn't go completely overboard (like me) on the kick or snare, and their simple sound comes out in the best way.

the melody is super nice! you say this is a remix, and you utilized the melodies well! i love the sound layering - the piano and that synth work super well, and i especially love that tiny lil sine wave sprinkled throughout the melody - adds a lot while being super small.

the one part i'd be a little iffy about is the cheesy key change, which is a bit of a trope, but it's definitely captured that classic techno vibe lol

i loved that!

Oh hey thank you so much!! Means a lot :D

It was really hard to make a very repetitive melody stretch out for 3 min but I'm glad you liked it haha

(And I'm a huge fan of key changes but I probably do over use them oops ^^;)

this is my favorite piece of music put out this year. you've done it! you've won 2023.

starting with the eq, and the soundscape; there's little super-high-end, and a lot of stereo depth on the low end. not only does that create a brilliant calming atmosphere, but it creates an atmosphere that effortlessly floats around you like water. the kick is soft but powerful, the bass is calming but moving, and the snare is light but still very present.

the instrumentation and soundscapes you use create a perfect nature feel - the song brings me to a vibrant dusk-ey place in my head where i can just sit and close my eyes and listen. i love how the leafy, grassy footstep sounds mesh perfectly in time with the kick, and the bells and melodies sprinkled around really make this song something else.

what really topped this, though, was the chord changes and non-standard times. the occasional skipping of the last half-beat was so smooth. i found myself naturally bobbing every which way, not even caring where i was, just that the song was perfectly jumping in and out wherever the hell it felt like. the key changes, just as well, brought everything to a new level every time they hit. there were so many, and they each transformed the song in their own unique way.

throughout the song, i had such a beautiful image in my head, such a nice atmosphere. seriously, i genuinely think you've won 2023 with this song

MusicbyFlups responds:

Thank you so much for the kind words! This made me feel much better about this song <3

how'd you mix the kick and snare so well? is that a separately mixed element? i.e. a kick element, and a unique kicksnare element that sounds similar but is specifically mixed?

another bop!!!

BoomKitty responds:

Honestly, I made this song like 2.5 years ago and I don't remember lol, but knowing myself I probably just mixed the main snare to have no low end and very little low mids, since the snare only ever hits with the kick drum. Any snare that hits without the kick is a different snare entirely.

what a BEAT holy WOW

X-500 responds:

Thank you so much , for thats nice words!

i love that melody/solo/little synth around 0:27 to 0:53 just doin whatever it wants!!!!! it's so happy
everything else is super nice too, this is so wonderful, especially the wind-down in the middle. i'm vibin with this!

Preds responds:

and then the vocals came through and i was blown away

anthonyragus responds:

Thanks Leia!

the production is SUPER nice on this! i actually really love this, the kick cuts through so satisfyingly and the chords hit so cleanly and distorted. real jam!!
i'm jealous of people who can pull off production like that holy wow

Beighty responds:

Heyyy! thank you, it means a lot!
Specially coming from you Masterrr UuU

I'm almost jealous of the mixing! You did such a good job on this! I love the drums, I love the bass, the piano is super awesome, everything about this is very high quality.

Beighty responds:

Yooo thank you so much man!! it means a lot <33

Holy shit! The progression on this is so COOL! Sound design is on point, too, man. Synthwave-style house is something I've been trying to get down, but I think you've nailed it very nicely. One minor irk is that the drop could have a bit more consistent bass; it's kinda jarring to have those bass frequencies bouncing in and out of existence as your bassline takes high notes.

Nue22 responds:

Thanks! OTT did kind of mess up the bass a little too much. Idk how to use it to be honest. I just wrote everything first by notes, so there's few droning bits as per usual, and also didn't add a second bit because I got too lazy to write one in without copy-pasting. Next time for sure x)

Lots of tiny, intricate sounds on this - nice job! I also enjoy how rhythmically loose it is. What sounds/instruments did you use?

CoreOfFox responds:

I didn't used any of them. I used Groovepad app for phone. But thank you for good rating!
