That beat is awesome! It's got a wonderful sense of pulse, and the distorted saw is super pleasant to listen to, and I love the slight time-manipulation on that. The break-beat drums are a great way to break up the crazy house beats, and lead perfectly into them as well!

how'd you mix the kick and snare so well? is that a separately mixed element? i.e. a kick element, and a unique kicksnare element that sounds similar but is specifically mixed?

Honestly, I made this song like 2.5 years ago and I don't remember lol, but knowing myself I probably just mixed the main snare to have no low end and very little low mids, since the snare only ever hits with the kick drum. Any snare that hits without the kick is a different snare entirely.

a little on the ear-unhappy side with those cymbals (try an equalizer! they help a lot for that sort of thing), but the weird, odd, distorted melodies make up for it
